Things you should do to have good Dental Hygiene
Good oral hygiene is vital for your wellbeing, keeping not only your teeth and gums healthy, but improving your own overall health too. You don’t want to brush them too hard as it can irritate your gums and lead to them bleeding. You also don’t want to brush them too soft as it might not get out any bits that are stuck in your teeth. Make sure that you also follow up with flossing and it can be a good idea to use mouthwash too.
Attend regular dental checkups
To ensure your dental hygiene is as good as it can be, it is important that you attend regular dental checkups, at least twice a year. Your dentist can check you for any issues such as cavities or early signs of tooth decay that you might not be able to spot yourself. They can help to prevent issues from getting worse and also give your teeth a deep clean too.
Watch the foods that you eat
Foods that are high in calcium are good for promoting strong teeth, but other foods can be bad for your dental hygiene. Try to avoid foods that are high in acid and sugar such as acidic fruits like oranges, fizzy drinks, and other desserts. Other foods that are bad for teeth, include foods that are high in starch such as pasta, chips, and bread as these linger in your mouth and can contribute to tooth decay.
Drink plenty of water
Water keeps you hydrated and promotes greater oral hygiene. It is also a much better option than sweet drinks such as soda pop which can be full of sugar and bad for your oral health. Water will also dilute things such as starches, acids, and sugars that are on your teeth, making them less of a problem to your teeth.
